Ladhpura Khas, MP, nominated for the UNWTO award for ‘Best Tourism Village.’

According to Sheo Shekhar Shukla, Principal Secretary of the Madhya Pradesh Tourism and Culture Department, the ‘Rural Tourism Project’ has begun in villages across the state, including Ladhpura Khas, with the goal of giving life to the notion of rural tourism by adding new dimensions. According to a senior state government official, Ladhpura Khas, a hamlet in Madhya Pradesh’s Niwari district, has been nominated for the UNWTO Award in the ‘Best Tourism Village’ category.

“Ladhpura Khas hamlet near tourist town Orchha has been nominated for the United Nations World Tourism Organization Award in the category of Best Tourism Village by the Union Ministry of Tourism. Two other villages from Meghalaya and Telangana have also been nominated. The ‘Rural Tourism Project,’ which includes Ladhpura Khas, was launched with the goal of giving shape to the notion of village tourism by adding new aspects, he added. “In the next five years, 100 communities will be developed from a rural tourist standpoint.” Suitable locations would be chosen and developed around tourist destinations such as Orchha, Khajuraho, Mandu, Sanchi, Pachmarhi, Tamia, Panna National Park, Bandhavgarh National Park, Sanjay Dubri National Park, Pench, and Kanha National Parks.
