The government’s e-Shram site seeks to register 38 million unorganised employees, including construction workers, migrant workers, street sellers, and domestic workers, among others. Workers will be given an e-Shram card with a 12-digit unique number, which will aid in their inclusion in social security systems in the future.

Targeted identification of unorganised employees was a critical step, and the site, which will serve as a national database of our nation’s builders, will assist in bringing assistance programmes to their doorsteps. The National Database of Unorganized Workers (E-Shram site) is another important step towards targeted distribution and last-mile delivery, which has been a significant emphasis of the government of India’s programmes.
